Conflict with strikers ends in arrest

Police arrested a man accused by two strikers at Pavilions of

threatening them with a large knife after a verbal argument Saturday.

The suspect, 33-year-old David Lineck of Laguna Beach, told

officers that he drove his girlfriend, a replacement worker, to

Pavilions every day because of the verbal abuse she’d received from

strikers. He denied having pulled a knife on anyone, and officers

found a 36-inch tai chi sword in his car, not the 12- to 18-inch

knife described by the victims. However, Lineck was booked and

released shorty thereafter, Sgt. Darin Lenyi said.

One of the victims, 31-year-old Seth Leader, was arrested Oct. 17

after he allegedly threatened four teenagers with an aluminum bat and

kicked their car after a verbal argument.

Leader and Lineck reportedly argued before they met on Jasmine

Street and High Drive, where Leader said Lineck exited his vehicle

and pulled a knife.
