The UC Irvine men’s basketball team opens the Save Mart Center at

Fresno State University at 5:30 tonight, when the Anteaters (2-3)

face Princeton (3-0) in the opening game of the McCaffrey Classic.

The Anteaters, off to their worst start since 1998-99, will be trying to snap a two-game losing steak against the Tigers, who have

won their first three for the first time in seven seasons.

UCI is led by 6-foot-11 senior Stanislav Zuzak (14.8 points per

game), as well as 7-0 senior Adam Parada (10.4 points and 6.2

rebounds per game) and sophomore point guard Jeff Gloger (10.0 ppg,

6.0 rpg and 4.4 assists per game).

The Anteaters are coming off a 65-57 road loss to Cal Wednesday.

Princeton, shooting 56.3% from the field as a team, is paced by

6-10 junior Judson Wallace (25.0 ppg, 9.7 rpg). The Tigers are

coached by John Thompson, the son of the former Georgetown head man.

UCI will play Division II Arkansas-Monticello (4-2 through

Thursday) Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the other game of the pre-set

tournament that also includes Fresno State.
