Runners converge at OCC
Local runners will converge for the Orange Coast College Running Club
invitational beginning with registration at 1 p.m. today on the OCC
track.
Dues-paying members of running clubs are invited to register and
must wear a club uniform to participate in one of seven events that
include races of one mile, two miles, 100, 200, 400 and 800 meters,
and a 1,600 relay. Cost for unlimited participation is $10. Proceeds
benefit Coast’s track and field programs.
The one-mile race will kick off events beginning at 2 p.m. and an
awards ceremony at 5 p.m. will conclude the day’s activities. Awards
will be given to the top three individuals in each event based on
age-graded world records.
Teams receive five points for first place, three for second and
one for third.
All area running clubs have been invited to participate.
Family and friends are invited to cheer runners.
