Xtreme wins championship
The Xtreme, in its first year in the Coast Soccer League, won the
fall league championship.
The girls’ Under-11 squad captured first-place with a 10-2-2
record and finished the regular season as one of the league’s
highest-scoring teams.
Midfielder Devon Shinn led the team in scoring followed by
midfielder Sarah Wilkenson and forward Katie Combest.
Also leading the Xtreme at the midfield and forward positions were
Natalie Bergeron, Hanna Mais, Emily Walling, Shannon Wright, Kelly
Lesser and Courtney Garrity.
The Xtreme defense, anchored by goalies Halle Bissin and Christina
Marquette, gave up just 10 goals all season.
Also contributing defensively were Nicole Camarillo, Paige Grigus,
Katherine Zeltner and Natalie Ortiz.
Coach Bob Zeltner’s team next will compete at the State Cup
tournament in January.

HB Ruff and Ready 3, Sweet and Sour 0
Sara Weismann scored two goals and undefeated HB Ruff and Ready
held off Sweet and Sour to win the division crown.
Weisman’s first goal came off a cross from the corner by Alexa
Ovaknine, her second goal, also set up by an Ovaknine feed.
Ovaknine scored Ruff and Ready’s second goal of the match off a
pass from Alexa Vellenoweth.
Ruff and Ready keeper Bethany Trekes had five saves.
Both teams will advance to compete in upcoming postseason
tournament play.
Region 117 Under-10 Division
Royal Strikers 2, Too Fast, Too Furious 1
Forward Savanna Dunlea scored both goals as the Royal Strikers
capped an undefeated season by winning the regular season tournament.
Amanda Marenko made several key saves at goalie for the Royal
Strikers, who will compete Saturday at the Area 11K playoffs.
Defender Katie Stewart led the attack for Too Fast, Too Furious.
