MONDAY
* Bluebird Canyon and Madison Place: Police were called to check
on a report of a suspicious man wearing dirty work boots and carrying
a computer at 4:07 p.m. Police determined the man was carrying a box
used to contain construction paperwork and not a computer.
* Forest Avenue: A woman was reported yelling obscenities in the
post office lobby in the 300 block at 10:02 a.m.
* High Drive and Aster Street: Police investigated a sighting of a
large brown bug with a striped abdomen at 8:09 p.m. After calling
police, the reporting party concluded the insect was a Jerusalem
cricket based on information obtained on the Internet.
* Lombardy Lane: A large glass elephant containing coins valued
around $3,000 was reported stolen from a bathroom at a home under
construction in the 600 block at 8:25 a.m.
* Miramar Street: A man called police to help him catch a pit
bull in the 900 block at 12:58 p.m.
* Wendt Terrace and Park Avenue: A baby-sitter reported a
60-year-old man in a dark gray Toyota Cressida offered a ride to her
and the 3-year-old child she was walking with before speeding away at
5 p.m.
SUNDAY
* North Coast Highway: The manager of a Pavilions store reported
being struck in the face with a sign by a picket in the 600 block at
5:09 p.m.
* Coast Highway: A woman reported a power surge after a telephone
pole fell onto wires in the 800 block at 7:53 a.m.
* Coast Highway: A customer reported being grabbed and hit by a
bouncer at the Mosan Sushi Bar for no reason in the 600 block at 1:38
a.m.
* Cozumel Street: Three juveniles were reported smoking on a hill
in the 200 block at 11:39 a.m.
* Morningside Drive: A car was reported to have been egged during
the night in the 1500 block at 8:15 a.m.
SATURDAY
* Coast Highway: A 40-year-old transient was arrested for
commercial burglary and resisting arrest after reportedly shoplifting
and drinking an entire bottle of Jagermeister in the 600 block at
1:21 p.m.
* Coast Highway: A camera, video camera and videos were reported
stolen from a hotel room at the Holiday Inn in the 600 block at 10:28
a.m.
* Forest Avenue: A suspect was arrested after a statue that had
been missing for two weeks was reported found smashed in the city
planter in the 300 block at 6:33 a.m.
* Park Avenue: A motorist reported having eggs thrown at his car
as he drove past the tennis courts in the 600 block at 11:53 p.m.
* Park Avenue: A woman reported her car stolen in the 500 block
at 10:39 a.m. After calling police, she realized she had parked her
car in the 200 block of Ocean Avenue.
FRIDAY
* Coast Highway: A bike was reported stolen from the back of a
truck in the 100 block at 10:39 a.m.
* Laguna Canyon Road: A Beverly Hills resident was arrested for
drunk driving after crashing into a telephone pole in the 1800 block
at 10:02 p.m.
