Girls’ water polo third in CIF poll

Laguna Beach High’s girls’ water polo team was ranked third in the

coaches’ preseason CIF-Southern Section Division II poll.

The top 10 poll was released Tuesday by the Southern Section

office in Los Alamitos.

The Division II top 10 poll was topped by Laguna’s Pacific Coast

League rival, Corona del Mar.

Following the Sea Kings was Canyon of Anaheim, which was ranked

No. 2.

Following No. 2 Laguna, in order, was Villa Park, Troy, Pacific

Coast League foe University, Peninsula, El Dorado, Santa Monica and

Fullerton.

The Pacific Coast League led all leagues in the division with

three of its teams ranked in the coaches’ top 10 preseason poll.

On Tuesday, the same day the poll was released, visiting Laguna

beat No. 8 El Dorado in overtime, 14-13.
