Holiday on Ice public ice skating at the Pier Plaza Ice Rink will

offer a unique Surf City version of the Rockefeller Center Ice Rink.

Overlooking the Huntington Beach Pier and beaches, the 80-by-40-foot

rink is at Pier Plaza, Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street. The

rink will open between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. daily and 90-minute

sessions cost $10 for adults and $7 for children. Skate rentals are

$3.50 per skater. Season passes cost $110. The rink will be open

through Jan. 11. Skating lessons, classes and party rentals are

The annual Huntington Beach Pier’s Polar Plunge will offer a

celebration of New Year’s Day in Huntington Beach with a quick dunk

in the Pacific Ocean. The plunge is scheduled for 9 a.m. and

admission is free. Attendees will meet at the south side of the pier

directed by Academy for the Performing Arts drama teacher Robert

Rotenberry, will premiere at the Huntington Beach Playhouse at 7111

Talbert Ave. The show is scheduled to run through Jan. 31. Curtain

JAN. 29

“Broadway Dreams,” a musical, will feature a cast from all over

Orange County and Hollywood in a benefit performance for the

Huntington Beach Playhouse. The curtain will rise at 8 p.m. and

additional shows are scheduled for Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 1 at 2

p.m. The cost of admission will be a $27 donation. The Huntington

Cruisers, billed as the best free car show in the world, is a

15-year tradition that brings classic and hot rod car collectors,
