Athletes honored

The 31st season of girls’ volleyball at Laguna Beach High wrapped up

with the program’s annual postseason banquet at the Laguna Beach

Women’s Club.

The Breakers, who proved competitive in Lance Stewart’s first year

as varsity head coach, honored four varsity players with team awards.

The event also included honors handed out at the frosh/soph and

junior varsity levels by frosh/soph coaches Justin Westgaard and

assistants James Wood and Jesse Westgaard, and junior varsity coach

Hilary Kyle.

The players to be honored for the 2003 season are:

Defensive MVP -- Joy Henderson

Offensive MVP -- Stephanie Darnall

Coach’s Award -- Cassie Caputo

Captains -- Christina Schuller, Joy Henderson

Second Team All-League -- Christina Schuller

Junior Varsity
