Joey Petrovich

Joey Petrovich, of Laguna Beach, died Saturday of complications

from influenza. He was 44.

Mr. Petrovich was a musician. He started the band Shadows in the

1980s, which became Theme Tots and finally the El Caminos. He wrote

songs about life in Laguna, his love for the ocean and the people he

befriended.

Musicians he played with included Mark Ritchie, Mark Gery, Mark

Sproul, Mark Welzig, Billy Sherman, Phil Gough, Mike Kramer and Drew

Weaver.

Laughter, fun, compassion and sensitivity are words that come to

mind when you think of Joey Petrovich.

He is survived by his father Joseph Petrovich; mother Kathryn

Disraeli; brothers Christopher Petrovich and Mark Bosko; and sisters

Karen Bosko and Cathy Bosko.

Services will be held at noon, Jan. 7 at Pacific View Memorial

Park. The viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Jan. 6 at 3500 Pacific

View Drive Corona del Mar Ca. 92625. Phone, (949) 644-2700

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the

Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
