Huntington Beach Girls Softball signups Saturday

Huntington Beach Girls Softball will hold its final signup session

for the upcoming 2004 season Saturday at Circle View School in

Huntington Beach.

The league is fielding teams in the 6-, 8-, 10-, 12- and

14-and-under divisions.

In addition to these age groups, this year the league also will be

fielding a 16-and-under team.

Participants must be 5 years of age by Jan. 1, 2004, to be

eligible for the 6-and-Under Division.

Registration fees for each division are as follows:

6-and-under: $75

8-and-under: $90

10- and 12-and-under: $100

14- and 16-and-under: $105

Those who register after Saturday’s signup session will be charged

an additional $10 per division, and will be placed on a waiting list.

Registration also will be taken online at https://www.hbgs.org.

Local baseball players participate in Cup Series

Three local prep baseball players, pitcher Brooks Walling and

outfielder Brandon Parillo of Marina High, along with third baseman

Hank Conger of Huntington Beach, played for Team Orange County at the

So Cal Cup Series.

The tournament, played Jan. 2, 3 and 4 at Brea-Olinda High,

featured teams from Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Diego

counties.

Team Orange County won the tournament with a 2-1 record.
