Mesa American Little League tryouts are slated for Saturday

Costa Mesa American Little League will be holding registration and

tryouts for the spring 2004 season from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday

at Costa Mesa High on the fields behind the tennis courts.

Boys and girls ages 5-12 are invited to register for the upcoming

season. T-ball, Coach Pitch and Farm Division players (ages 5-7) and

returning Major players do not need to tryout but should register on

Saturday.

Players ages 8-12 who wish to be drafted onto a Major, Minor A or

Minor B team must tryout. Players who do not tryout will not be

eligible to be drafted and will be placed on a waiting list for

available openings. Players should arrive at least 20 minutes before

their scheduled tryout time to check-in and warm up. Players who have

not already registered should arrive at least 30 minutes early.

Tryout times are 9 a.m. for ages 11 and 12 (born Aug. 1, 1991-July

31, 1993), 10 a.m. for age 10 (born Aug. 1, 1993-July 31, 1994), 11

a.m. for age 9 (born Aug. 1, 1994-July 31, 1995) and noon for age 8

(born Aug. 1, 1995-July 31, 1996). A make-up tryout and registration

will be held for all ages at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17.

Registration fees are $95 per player and $75 for T-ball or Coach

Pitch players, with the total family donation not to exceed $225. If

a player’s family elects not to participate in the league’s

fundraisers, then registration fee are $120 per player and $100 for a

T-ball or Coach Pitch player, with the total family donation not to

exceed $275.

New players need to bring a copy of the player’s birth certificate

and proof of residency within the league’s boundaries (parent’s

drivers license, utility bill, rental agreement) For more
