Kevin Andrew Henry

Kevin Andrew Henry died Dec. 18 of osteosarcoma. He was 40.

The native Lagunan graduated from Laguna Beach High School with

the class of 1981. He graduated from UC Irvine in 1985.

Mr. Henry was an advocate of Earth First! and the environment. He

spent many weekends protesting the nuclear test site in Mercury, Nev.

He walked across America in the 1986 “Great Peace March for Global

Nuclear Disarmament.”

He moved to Eugene, Ore. where he was a community activist,

protesting detrimental environmental issues.

He is survived by his life partner, Larry Fox of Eugene; mother,

Eleanor of Laguna Beach; sister Melinda Szatlocky of Pt. Angeles,

Wash.; brothers Vincent of Laguna Beach and Stephen of Roberts Creek,

BC, Canada; and a half brother Alex in Vancouver; his niece Anna,

Leah and Mariah; and nephew Josh. His father, Robert, preceded him in

death.

A celebration of his life will be held in his garden in spring. In

lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Laguna

Canyon Foundation, 303 Broadway, Laguna Beach, Ca. 92651.

Lois Osborne Solomon

Lois Osborne Solomon, 93, of Laguna Beach, died Dec. 27.

Born May 2, 1910 in Los Angeles, she moved to Laguna Beach in 1938

with her husband, John W. Solomon and sons John and William.

John established his law practice and worked until 1995 when he

retired and his son, Kenneth, took over the practice. John died in

1998.

As a resident of Laguna Beach, Lois was active in civic and social

affairs.

Lois is survived by her children, John, Lois Elizabeth, Kenneth

and Alan. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great

grandchildren.

Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Episcopal

Church, 428 Park Ave., Laguna Beach.

Janet Anne Bastajian

Janet Anne Bastajian of Laguna Beach died Dec. 25 of multiple

myeloma. She was 66.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; and daughter July Burglin of

Aliso Viejo.
