Blackhawks down Hurricanes

Kyle Hayashida netted two goals and the Blackhawks picked up another

Smythe Division victory as they defeated the Hurricanes, 3-1, at

Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center.

Hayashida scored two consecutive goals in the final period as the

Blackhawks pulled away from a 2-1 lead.

Nicole Chittum scored once and had an assist and Connor Culhane

and Taylor Baikie each scored once for the Blackhawks.

Chas Plimpton finished with 19 saves.

Aaron Casanova scored an unassisted goal in the second quarter for

the Hurricanes and Brandon Jones recorded 27 saves.

In other games:

Vipers 3, Sharpshooters 3

The Vipers rallied for two, third period goals to forge a tie with

the Sharpshooters.

Tristan DeBoom and Jared Novakovich scored both third period goals

to complete the comeback.

Nick Iacono had a goal and assist and DeBoom had an assist.

Zachary Beko had 22 saves.

Justin Williams’ two goals paced the Sharpshooters.

Bryce King also scored, Samuel Bouchard and Jeremy McHenry each

had assists and Corey Jones finished with 19 saves.

Crusaders 6, Ice Dogs 2

The Crusaders outscored the Ice Dogs, 4-0, over the final two

periods to pull away to victory.

Michael Thomas’ three goals led the Crusaders’ attack. Garrett

Smith scored twice and Brandon Sims scored once with an assist.

Jacob Otis had 20 saves.

For the Ice Dogs, Gene Jaeger and Sam Prizler each scored and

Marcus Kurth had an assist.

Renegades 3, Dragons 1

Avi Press recorded 21 saves and the Renegades defense allowed just

a third period goal in claiming the win.

Neal MacPherson, Ken Schwabe and Warren Brown all scored goals.

Jacob Sabraw and Krist Biakanja each had an assist.

Joshua Ishizaki scored off an Alex Willingham assist and James

Newman had 26 saves for the Dragons.
