girls soccer team to a 3-0 Academy League victory over host Brethren

Christian Thursday.

McLauglin opened the scoring with a goal on an assist by senior

Megan Curry in the 15th minute. About five minutes later, junior Amy

Werblin’s unassisted goal gave the Lightning (6-5-2, 2-3-1 in league)

a 2-0 lead. McLaughlin scored again in the second half with a header

on a corner kick by Werblin. Junior goalie Laura Gordon had one save

as Sage Hill outshot Brethren Christian, 18-2. The Warriors dropped

to 3-7, 2-4.

No. 4 in CIF Southern Section Division I, remained undefeated at

DeMille solid for Sailors
