Oilers strike goals in win over Eagles

Matthew Braun burned the net for eight goals to lead a potent Dwyer

Oilers offensive attack during a 15-9 victory over the Mesa View

Eagles in a Jr. High Division game at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey

Center.

Braun scored his team’s first four goals during a six-goal first

quarter explosion by the Oilers.

Kyle Impelman posted three goals and Jamie Schlegel was the other

multiple goal scorer for the Oilers with two.

Jackson also led the team in assists with four, while Schlegel had

three assists and Braun finished with two.

Shayne Nelson recorded 19 saves.

Kenny Gibo scored six goals, including four straight during the

game, to pace Mesa View.

Gibo also had an assist.

Joey Burkhardt scored twice and Mark Miller had one goal.

Miller also picked up a pair of assists.

Damian Raburn finished with 24 saves.

Jr. Griffins 12, Valley Christian 2

Six players scored for the Jr. Griffins, who were led by the five

goal scoring of Justin Castagna.

Stephen White scored three goals and John Thompson, Brad

Brandenburg and Kevin Morrison all scored once.

Thompson and Cody McWhirter each had two assists and White,

Brandenburg and Morrison each had one.

Valley Christian got single goals from Ryan Daley and Justin

Novakovich and Kyle Morrill had 28 saves.

Mayfair 12, Marine View 5

The Monsoons outscored the Mariners, 9-3, over the final two

quarters to pull away.

Paul Anderson led Mayfair with five goals and three assists.

Michael Mendez and Jayce Borski each scored twice and Matthew

Fletcher, Cory Kronebusch and Billy Borrmann each had a goal.

Shane Connolly had 19 saves.

Kelan Stuart scored five goals and had an assist to power Marine

View.

Robert Oliver scored a goal and Dylan Caldeira had 22 assists.
