Tamara Maginot of Huntington Beach was named...

Tamara Maginot of Huntington Beach was named to the dean’s list for

the fall semester at the College of Human Services and Health

Professions at Syracuse University in New York. The award is given to

students earning a grade-point average of at least 3.4. Maginot is a

freshman majoring in social work ... Travel agent Jo Andrews, owner

of Go With Jo Travel, received first-place honors for best community

and charity work in the Travel Age West Trendsetter of the West

Awards. Andrews earned the award in part for her work with Golden

West College -- she works on the college’s gala committee and is

chairwoman of the fashion show. Andrews also supports Huntington

Harbor Philharmonic, Soroptimist International, the Huntington Youth

Shelter and the Entertainment and Tourism Academy at Huntington Beach

High School ... Huntington Beach resident Melissa Marie Busack has

been selected to compete in the 2004 Miss Pre-Teen Anaheim pageant.

Busack will vie for a share of more than $20,000 in scholarships and

prizes and for the right to represent the Anaheim area in the Cities

of America National Competition in Orlando, Fla.
