* What is the most pressing issue in the state?

Illegal immigration, school funding, housing affordability.

* In Huntington Beach?

More predictable school funding for classroom construction and

class-size reduction.

* What is the best solution to the state’s budget crisis?

Freeze spending, cut waste, eliminate special benefits for illegal

immigrants and reduce business regulations to encourage economic

growth.

* Assuming the Legislature stays in Democratic hands, how will you

work with the majority party?

I have always had success at the legislative level in passing

bills that benefit Orange County, like helping to push through the

Amber Alert law. By coordinating efforts with the Governor, where

appropriate, Republicans can pass conservative solutions to the

state’s problems.

* What makes you the best person for the job?

My conservative Assembly record reflects the anti-tax, pro-family,

pro-jobs priorities important to Orange County. I have a history of

public service, having served in our nation’s military, to 14 years

as a local police officer, to serving in state and local government.

* What one thing would you hope to accomplish while in office?

Strengthen our immigration laws.
