Luminous Painting: Contemporary Egg Tempura is an art exhibit

showcasing the early Renaissance technique of mixing egg yolk with

dry paint. The exhibit is open Mondays through Thursdays from 10 a.m.

to 2 p.m. It is also open Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5 to 8

p.m. The artwork will be displayed at the Gallery at Golden West

College, at 15744 Goldenwest St. The show will be held through March

Tickets are now on sale for the Taste of Huntington Beach, a

benefit featuring food from local restaurants. Ticket sales will be

donated to the Huntington Beach Children’s Library. Guests who order

tickets in advance will be able to pay $40 instead of the $50 door

price. Tickets can be purchased at the reception desk at the Central

Library at 7111 Talbert Ave. The event will be held on March 28 at

the Huntington Beach Hyatt. Information: (714) 842-4481.

Centered on the Center will feature more than 200 regional artists

in a group exhibition. About 325 works will be on display. The event

is slated to run through Feb. 29. The exhibition will be at the

Huntington Beach Art Center, 538 Main St. Admission is free.

FRIDAY

Mardi Gras Brazilian Carnival, a musical stage show with

Christiane Calli and the Girls from Ipanema, will offer dancing and a

barbecue kitchen. The carnival will run from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at

Old World Village, 7561 Center Ave. The event will also be held on
