Dr. Gene Profant of Olympia, Wash., announces the engagement of

his daughter Judi Profant of Newport Beach to Christopher Johnson of

Newport Beach.

The bride-elect graduated from University High School, UC Irvine,

a joint doctoral program in clinical psychology from San Diego State

and UC San Diego.

The future bridegroom, son of Tom and Anne Johnson of Newport

Beach graduated from Newport Harbor High School and attended UC

Berkeley.

An Aug. 7 wedding is planned at the Old St, Hilary’s in Tiburon.

Charbel-Jaoude

Elyana Charbel of Shayleh, Lebanon and Albert Jaoude of Newport

Beach exchanged vows at Saydet El-Najat Church in Zalka, Lebanon on

Jan. 4.

The bride is the daughter of Asmahane Charbel and the late Antoine

Charbel of Shayleh, Lebanon.

The bride wore a straight, short-sleeved silk crepe dress, trimmed

in pearl into the neckline and added to the waistline. The dress also

had a long train, and a transparent veil trimmed with pearls.

The maid of honor was Nadine Charbel. The bridesmaid was Olguina

Charbel.

The bridegroom is the son of Kheir and Leyla Abou-Jaoude of

Jal-El-Dib, Lebanon. The best man was James McEniry. The ushers were:

Ghenwa, Joelle, Aline and Marie-Therese.

The reception was held at the Le Royal Hotel in Zalka, Lebanon

with 300 guests in attendance. The couple spent its honeymoon in

Sydney and Melbourne, Australia. They now live in Newport Beach.

The bride is employed at a day care center and as a French

teacher. The groom is self-employed in finance and trading.
