Sailors’ Young honored

Newport Harbor High junior Taylor Young, who averaged 16 points in 10

Sea View League boys basketball games, has been named first-team

all-league by the circuit’s coaches.

Young scored in double figures in every league contest, including

a high of 24 in the first round against Laguna Hills.

Young was the only player recognized from the Sailors, who went

5-5 in league and lost in the first round of the CIF Southern Section

Division II-AA playoffs to finish 14-12.

Woodbridge High senior David Burgess is the Player of the Year.

The first team also includes Woodbridge seniors Jon Winder and

Kyle Ferrell, Aliso Niguel juniors Michael Roll and Terence Green,

Foothill senior Brandt Bangs and Laguna Hills senior Brock Tillotson.
