HB Crush opens new season

The HB Crush opened the spring season on a winning note by defeating

Region 56, 3-0, in girls’ AYSO Under-14 Division soccer action.

Erika Longoria opened up the scoring with a first quarter goal.

The score remained 1-0 at the halftime break but in the second

half, Kirsten Marony netted two goals to make it 3-0.

Both Marony goals came off assists from Patty Amador.

George Demes and Melody Sainz shared goalkeeping duties, each

making key saves to preserve the shutout.

The Crush received strong defensive play from Kristy Verone, Lily

Khosroupour and Rachel Pasternak in the backfield, while Breanne

Justice, Jessica Ross, Alli Budd, Alison Hensley, Hayley Townsend and

Osiris Ceja provided mid-field and offensive support.
