The Orange County Coastkeeper is looking for volunteers as the

organization expands the number of creek sites it monitors in the

Huntington Beach area. A training session for new volunteers will be

Fourth of July board is seeking nominations for the 2004 Fourth of

July Centennial Celebration’s Community Grand Marshal. Candidates

must live or work in Huntington Beach and have participated in

volunteer or charity activities. Nominations may be mailed to the

Huntington Beach Fourth of July Executive Board, care of Community

Services, City of Huntington Beach, 2000 Main St., Huntington Beach,

SATURDAY

A Luau Gala will be hosted by Huntington Beach Christian School

to raise funds for a school chapel. Hawaiian dancers will perform at

the event, which will feature a raffle and an auction. The 6 p.m.

event will be held in the Ciello Mare Ballroom at the Hilton

Waterfront Beach Resort, at 21100 Pacific Coast Highway. Admission

The Kids Rule! Family Festival will be hosted by Community for

Class Size Reduction. Assemblyman Tom Harman will speak on education.

There will also be children’s activities and live entertainment. The

event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Kettler Elementary
