Garden Club to host Laguna tour

The Laguna Beach Garden Club will host a tour of six North Laguna

Beach gardens. Tickets will cost $20, and an optional box lunch can

be purchased for $10. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Charm House Tour tickets are available

The Village Laguna Charm House Tour will feature five homes. The

tour will begin at noon May 16. Chartered Laguna Beach city trams

will leave continuously from the bus stop in front of the Festival of

Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road.

Trams will circulate among the homes and return to the festival

area and serve the Act V parking lot throughout the day. The last

tram will depart at 3:30 p.m., and homes will close for viewing at

5:30 p.m. Trams will take participants to each home, but walking and

stair climbing will be required. Comfortable shoes are recommended.

The tour, which normally takes two to three hours, can be completed

at one’s own pace.

Tickets will cost $35 each in advance, and $40 the day of the

event. Tickets can be obtained by writing P.O. Box 1309, Laguna

Beach, CA 92652.

Tickets will be on sale starting in mid-late April at shops and

offices throughout town.

Time changed for senior center hearing

The hearing on the environmental impact report for the proposed

community/senior center and redevelopment of the Community Clinic

scheduled to be heard by the City Council at 7:30 p.m., April 6 has

been moved forward to 6 p.m.

Comments on the report may be made in person at the public hearing

or in writing.

Court challenges to the project may be limited to issues raised at

the hearing or in written correspondence delivered to the council at

or before the public hearing.

Animal rescue group in need of volunteers

Rescuing Unwanted Furry Friends is looking for volunteers. The

group is seeking at least six people who are able to work two to

three hours per week. The group is looking for volunteers to work on

the telephone as well as event organizers and volunteer coordinators.

Ebell hosts silent auction at Laguna Art Museum

The Ebell Club of Laguna Beach will hosting its first Laguna Art

Museum Event. There will be docent tours and a silent art auction.

Donated artwork will include two scarves by Brenda Solomon,

original paintings by Walter Visolay and Pam Reed, an original oil by

Carolyn Reynolds, “Notism,” by Ron Burkhardta, a small watercolor by

Fay Bowman, “Morning Bathing Ghat on the Ganges River,” photographed

by Rob Gage, framed artwork by David Milton, “Aubuson Dance,” an oil

painting on linen by Marianne Van der Vee, “Mosaic Treasure,” a fused

glass necklace by Linda Ames, two oils by Cary McKeown and others.

The event will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Laguna Art Museum,

307 Cliff Drive. The requested donation will be $25 per person and

the proceeds are to benefit the Laguna Art Museum and other community

Youth Shelter training volunteers

The Community Service Programs Youth Shelter will hold volunteer

training from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the shelter.

‘Only in Laguna’ show ready to go

“Only in Laguna” will be a fashion show to raise money for local

charities. Fashions from local merchants will be on display. The show

will be held from noon to 2 p.m. at Tivoli Too, at 777 Laguna

Annual Playhouse gold tournament set

Golfers are invited to the fourth annual Laguna Playhouse Charity

Golf Tournament to benefit the Laguna Playhouse Youth Theatre

Program.

Participants will play in a four person scramble that will include

wine tasting on several holes, celebrity contestants, skill contests

and a chance to win a car.

The May 4 tournament will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be followed

by a 5:30 dinner action and performance featuring Laguna Playhouse

students. The event will be held at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho

Santa Margarita, 29082 Tijeras Creek.

The price for golf and dinner will be $175, dinner only will cost
