SPAGHETTI AND BINGO DO MIX

The Orange Coast Lions Club will hold its fourth annual Spaghetti

Dinner and Bingo Night on April 3 at the Costa Mesa Women’s Club,

according to Eric Anderson, second vice president.

The evening will begin at 5 p.m. with dinner, followed by an

evening of bingo at 7:15 p.m. “We have drawing and door prizes

galore,” states Anderson who adds “this is a major fundraiser for the

Club.”

Tickets, at $8 each are sold at the door. The Women’s Club is on

the corner of 18th Street and Anaheim Avenue in Costa Mesa. Enjoy an

early dinner and an evening of good, old-fashioned bingo while

supporting the Lions Club in raising funds for their charitable work.

MY HITCH IN HELL

Temple Bat Yahm in Newport Beach invites you to a special

presentation by Lester I. Tenney, author of “My Hitch in Hell: The

Bataan Death March,” at 7 p.m. April 25.

Forced to walk under the boiling hot Asian sun for 12 days to a

prison camp on Bataan, hundreds of American and Filipino POWs died

along the journey. Lester Tenney’s incredible story of his survival

will inspire all who hear it. “This book has moved me like nothing I

have read this year,” said Rabbi Mark Miller of Temple Bat Yahm.

While there is no charge for the event, reservations are needed

and can be made by calling the Temple office at (949) 644-1999. The

Temple is at 1011 Camelback St., Newport Beach.
