Sage girls recognized

Sage Hill School juniors Amy Werblin and Laura Gordon, both repeat

first-team All-Academy League girls soccer selections, top six

Lightning players named all-league by the circuit’s coaches.

Werblin and Gordon are joined on the first team by freshman Emily

Webb.

Senior Megan Curry, who was second-team all-league as a junior, is

joined on the second team by Sage Hill teammates Ali McLaughlin, a

freshman, and Rebecca Gordon, a junior.

Amy Ray, who guided the Lightning to an 8-7-3 record (4-4-2 in

league good for third place) is the league Coach of the Year.

Sage Hill lost in the first round of the CIF Southern Section

Division VI playoffs, 2-1, to Fairmont Prep.
