The Orange County Coastkeeper is looking for volunteers as the

organization expands the number of creek sites it monitors in the

Huntington Beach area. A training session for new volunteers will be

Central Baptist Church will host Joe Dallas as he speaks on

La Petite Academy Preschool will host its annual Spring Fling

charity event. All proceeds from this event will go to the

Make-A-Wish Foundation. There will be face painting, bunny pictures

Lake Park Clubhouse on Lake Street between 11th and 12th streets.

A child-fingerprinting event will be held at the Huntington Beach

City Hall. The event, sponsored by Assemblyman Tom Harman, is

An Irish research seminar will be hosted by the Orange County

Genealogical Society. Professional genealogist Kyle Betit will

SUNDAY

The Soroptimist International of Huntington Beach will host the

Making a Difference for Women Awards for 2004. The honorees for Woman

of Distinction are Barbara Huss and Dr. Jacqueline Cherewick. The

winner of the Woman Helping Women award is Ilona Miller and the

Advancing the Status of Women award will be presented to Rick

Ganulin. The 11:30 a.m. awards luncheon will be held in the Pacific

Room at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort at 21100 Pacific Coast

TUESDAY

“Social Justice Seen Through the Lens,” a film series, will be

hosted by Sts. Simon and Jude Church throughout the season of Lent.

The church will host a screening of the film “Romero,” about

Archbishop Oscar Romero of El Salvador. The film will begin at 7 p.m.

The SOS Investment Club meets regularly on the second Monday of

each month and is seeking new members interested in studying

The Huntington Beach

Chapter of the National Assn. of the Physically Handicapped

provides disabled children and adults the opportunity to make their

lives become more vital to the community through providing

informative newsletters four times a year from National Headquarters.

The Clara Barton chapter

of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will

meet at 9:30 a.m. on the Thursday preceding the third Saturday of

can prove lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in

The Point-to-Point

chapter of the American Needlepoint Guild meets on the fourth

provides education in needle arts, particularly needlepoint, and is
