Youth meet set for April 16

Children ages 6-15 are invited to compete on a recreational level at

the Youth Track and Field Championships at Newport Harbor High April

16 from 4:30 to 8 p.m..

Co-sponsored by Newport Beach Recreation Services and the

Newport-Balboa Rotary Club, the multi-event competition will include

individual running along with throwing and jumping events.

All participants will receive an event T-shirt. First-, second-

and third-place winners will receive awards and will qualify to

represent Newport Beach in the Orange County Championship meet in

May.

Optional clinics are held at various school and park sites and are

included in the $10 pre-registration fee.
