Dead body found in back of truck

Police arrested four people, including two Costa Mesa residents,

on suspicion of murder after they were found with the body of a man

in the back of a pickup truck, Huntington Beach police officials said

Wednesday.

Police arrested Jason Karr, 39, and 19-year-old Erin Brooks, both

of Costa Mesa. Also taken into custody were 40-year-old Billy Johnson

and Suzanne Miller, 24, both of Huntington Beach, said Huntington

Beach Police Capt. Dan Johnson.

Billy Johnson and Miller were wanted on an arrest warrant for

methamphetamine sales, and Karr was wanted for a parole violation, he

said. The four were in two cars when they were pulled over Tuesday

night near the Pomona Freeway in Riverside County, Dan Johnson said.

While searching the back of the pickup truck, which was covered by

a camper shell, police found the body among pieces of wood, he said.

Police did not reveal the man’s identity or the circumstances of the

alleged murder. An investigation is ongoing, Dan Johnson said.
