TODAY

The Orange County Coastkeeper is looking for volunteers as the

organization expands the number of creek sites it monitors in the

Huntington Beach area. A training session for new volunteers will be

FRIDAY

The Winners Circle Breakfast will be hosted by the Huntington

Beach Chamber of Commerce. The featured speaker will be Richard

Morley of Community Health Care Centers. The 7:30 a.m. breakfast will

A Grad Night Bingo event will be hosted by Marina High School. The

event will be organized by Marina High parents to raise money for a

safe and sober graduation night. Doors will open at 9 a.m. Early-bird

SUNDAY

Huntington Dog Beach will host a beach cleanup. Free pizza,

quarters for parking and cleaning supplies will be given to

volunteers. The cleanup will be from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Volunteers will meet at the white tent near Tower 24. Parking will be

APRIL 18

A Designer Clothing Sale will be hosted to benefit the Academy for

the Performing Arts. Racks full of designer women’s apparel from

Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s will be on sale for discounts of up to 93%.

The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Huntington Beach High

School’s Student Center. The school is at the corner of Yorktown

Avenue and Main Street. Cash, check or credit cards will be accepted.

The Bolsa Chica Land Trust Wetlands Table and Mesa Tour will be a

free, two-hour walking tour conducted by the Bolsa Chica Land Trust.

Visitors are advised to wear comfortable shoes and binoculars are

suggested. Visitors to the 10 a.m. tour will meet in the Ecological

Reserve parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway about 1.5 miles south of

Warner Avenue, across from Bolsa Chica State Beach. Information:

Free breast cancer screenings will be provided. Testing will be

free for women over the age of 40 who are of limited means, uninsured

or underinsured. Appointments can be scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. and

Grace Lutheran Preschool will hold a face-painting fundraiser, a

giant slide and visitors from the Huntington Beach Police Department.

A support group for adult children of Alzheimer’s patients will be

CIVIC GROUPS

The SOS Investment Club meets regularly on the second Monday of

each month and is seeking new members interested in studying

companies and making long-term investments. The group’s meetings are

The Huntington Beach

Chapter of the National Assn. of the Physically Handicapped

provides disabled children and adults the opportunity to make their

lives become more vital to the community through providing

informative newsletters four times a year from National Headquarters.

It meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at

Wycliffe Gardens at 18765 Florida St. Anyone interested in becoming

The Clara Barton chapter

of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will

meet at 9:30 a.m. on the Thursday preceding the third Saturday of

Membership in the club is open to any woman who is at least 18 and

can prove lineal bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in
