to play at Harvard

Marina High basketball standout James Lambert has been excepted to

Harvard University, Vikings boys’ basketball coach Roger Holmes

announced.

The four-year varsity performer will play basketball for the

Crimson next year.

Lambert carries a 4.2 grade-point average and scored a 1420 on his

SAT.

He finished the year with a 17 points and 6.5 rebounds per game

average, and helped lead Marina to the Division I-A championship game

at the Pond of Anaheim.

Lambert was voted first team All-CIF Division I-A, marking the

second time his has earned Southern Section honors.

Last year, he was named to the Division I-A second team.

He also was a first team All-Sunset League selection this year.

“We are all very excited for James in getting this opportunity,”

Holmes said. “He has worked so hard for the last fours years both on

the court and in the classroom.

“He took a recruiting trip out there last November and absolutely

fell in love with the place.”
