Well-being of students monitored

The district’s Quest for Excellence Committee has established a

sub-committee to facilitate the social and emotional well-being of

Laguna students in every facet of life.

Two surveys administered by the districtseemed positive with a

higher percentage of students reporting a high social emotional

well-being. On the other end of the spectrum, the report shows that a

smaller percentage have negative emotions, worry excessively and do

not feel safe in their environment.

Some district teachers feel there are students who are not

achieving to their highest potential.

The committee’s goals are to increase the number of students who

possess high to very high levels of social, emotional and behavioral

well-being and to reduce the number of students who underachieve in

their schoolwork and have low levels of social, emotional and

behavioral well-being.
