GREER WYLDER

Three home decor stores at Fashion Island have expanded to offer even

more choices for locals looking for great furnishings and decor.

Garys Island Home just reopened after an expansion, and Z Gallerie

and Restoration Hardware are each remodeling to add more room. In

addition, Neiman Marcus expanded its home store, on the third level.

Now it has 9,000 square feet of home decor to choose from.

Garys Island Home specializes in tropical home furnishings and

decor. The store opened less than five years ago, and already its

overwhelming success has demanded an expansion. It recently grew from

a cozy 850 square-foot boutique to a 3,000 square-foot showroom. Now

there are even more tropical indoor and outdoor furnishings, tabletop

accessories, gifts and artwork. The new store also has tropical

bedding, as well as custom bedding and window treatments. There’s a

larger selection of Palechek furniture and accessories such as

aromatherapy candles, lotions and bath products. It also has Tommy

Bahama patio furniture, as well as top-of-the-line Brown and Jordan.

Consignment art is by local artists.

Z Gallerie has temporarily relocated at Fashion Island and will

reopen in its original space early this month. It’s adding 2,000

square feet to house a gallery area for furniture and formal mirrors.

More accessories will also be available.

Restoration Hardware debuts its expansion this fall. It will offer

11,500 square feet of home furnishings, functional and decorative

hardware, gifts and more. It’s one of the largest Restoration

Hardware stores. It will house a greater selection of all merchandise

categories: furnishings, decor, linens, and fun items such as games

and record players.

Neiman Marcus also just completed its new home decor department on

the third level, adding more designer merchandise and accessories.

The atmosphere was created for California’s casual and luxury styles.

It now has dedicated shops for Steuben, William Yeoward, Jay

Strongwater, Daum, as well as a Bridal Registry consultation suite.

Fashion Island also offers one of the country’s most successful

Pottery Barn stores, as well as Orange County’s only Bloomingdale’s

Home Store, Shabby Chic, Design Within Reach, Anthropologie, Between

the Sheets, Duxiana and Select Comfort.

EMULATING PARIS

Owner Kate Jeremias created Oiseaux Flowers to resemble the little

flower shops she adores in Paris. In addition to her broad mix of

interesting flowers and blooming fruit branches, she selects French

antique garden containers, vintage ribbon, letterpress cards,

stationery, and a variety of vases and stone planters. In-season

florals include lilac, dogwood, forsythia, garden roses and amazing

array of tulips. Also, choose from assorted succulents and potted

plants. Oiseaux joined a nationwide network of boutique fine

florists, and can send high quality arrangements anywhere in the

country. The shop offers free deliveries to Hoag Hospital and is open

9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday; or

by appointment for events. It’s at 371 Old Newport Blvd. in Newport

Beach. Call (949) 673-5283 or e-mail oiseauxflowers@aol.com.

INITIALS AREN’T ENOUGH

Bottega Veneta’s fall collection can be seen starting Saturday

through Monday at its South Coast Plaza boutique. The collection

features new materials, unusual techniques and incredible handwork.

Bottega Veneta’s renaissance started in 2001 when Gucci bought the

company and Tomas Maier became creative director. Maier brought back

Bottega’s motto that initials are not enough. Its classic trademark

weave and luxurious leathers make Bottega stand apart from its

competitors. Designs are made from the softest Napa and deerskin,

calf and some cotton and ribbon. Handbags are its best seller. There

are also shoes, belts, small leather goods and a small selection of

men’s shoes. Open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Friday; 10 a.m. to 8

p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sunday. It’s on Level Two in

South Coast Plaza. Call (714) 540-9760 or visit

Bahama and 3 Dot. New additions include Burberry and Jamie Sadock.

It’s open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily at 1600 E. Pacific Coast Highway in

Newport Beach. Call (949) 644-9680.
