What boy hasn’t played “cowboys and Indians” or “war” when growing

up?

It seems a rite of passage to don whatever articles of camouflage

clothing you owned and muster your munitions, usually “caps,” and

meet the other neighborhood kids on the battlefield; which was

whatever open space the kids can find.

Unfortunately, times have changed and kids playing with guns has

taken on a new meaning. Eyebrows are raised when the guns look too

realistic, what kind of environmental impact the pellets cause, or

what kind of psychology is associated with playing “violent” games.

Photographer Doug Zimmerman’s photo offers a different view of

these youth activities; the kids are just playing a game.
