Huntington Beach Boy Scout Michael Olmstead has earned the group’s

highest honor, the Eagle Scout Award. Olmstead, 16, received the award Sunday after earning 21 merit badges and supervising the

renovation of an observation platform at the Shipley Nature Center.

He is a junior at Marina High School and is the son of Bob and Susan

Olmstead. ... Army Pfc. Shane O. Anderson has returned to Vilseck,

Germany, after being deployed to Kuwait and Iraq in support of

Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Anderson is regularly

assigned to the 94th Engineer Combat Battalion. Anderson is a

carpentry and masonry specialist with two years of military service.

He is the son of Huntington Beach resident Harold R. Anderson ... Air

Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Chris M. Schuldes graduated from

basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

Schuldes learned rifle marksmanship, field training exercises and

special training in human relations. Schuldes, a 2003 graduate of

Marina High School, is the son of Andrew and Lisa Fish of Huntington

Beach.
