Favorite golf moment: “In the 1988 member-guest [also known as the

Balboa tournament] at Big Canyon. My partner, Peter Nelson, and I

shot a 61 gross (55 net) in a best ball to tie the course record in a

tournament. I made eight birdies and he made four. We birdied No. 18.

It is the biggest tournament of the year at the club and to be able

to have one of my best friends with me ... it’s more fun when you do

something and it’s more than just you.”

Favorite hobby outside of golf: Family

Family: Wife, Lynda; two daughters, Lindsay (25), Kristy (17) and

one son, D.J. (24).

Noteworthy: Winner of 11 men’s club titles, a Newport-Mesa record;

founder and owner of local real estate brokerage company; grew up

playing at Irvine Coast Country Club -- now Newport Beach Country

Club; held course records at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club, Big

Canyon and Irvine Coast (all at different times).
