Angels come back to down Dodgers

The Angels posted a come-from-behind victory in Seaview Little League

Minor A Division play by defeating the Dodgers, 4-3.

Eric Sickle doubled among two hits and Christian Anderson singled

twice to lead the Angels on offense.

Jacob Lesinski got the pitching win.

Lane Hepburn struck out six and walked one in six innings, and

Danny Oates had an RBI single for the Dodgers.

In other Minor A Division games:

Cubs 11, A’s 2

Chase Leamer struck out six early in the game to set the tone for

the Cubs.

Riley Mailman singled twice and collected a pair of RBIs, and Jack

Koeller and Nick Plunkett each had an RBI double.

The A’s Kyle Curtis had a hit and scored a run.

Marlins 10, Royals 6

Andy Grunbaum doubled and singled and knocked in three runs, Scott

Orel had three hits and an RBI and Corey Hammond had three singles

for the Marlins.

The pitching win went to Michael Buntich.

Steven Malone tripled, doubled and had three RBIs, Wayne Van Bavel

had two hits and an RBI and Ryan Bleile had a pair of hits.

Angels 7, Cubs 5

Jacob Lesinski had two RBIs and Eric Sickle had two hits to lead

the Angels.

Starter Max Mayer notched the win.

The Cubs’ Riley Mailman had two hits and an RBI.

A’s 13, Dodgers 9

The two teams combined for 25 hits, with 14 coming off A’s bats.

Beau Mitchell doubled and singled with three RBIs, Luke Herrington

and Corey Schreiber each doubled and singled with two RBIs, Kyle

Curtis had two hits and one RBI, Wesley Krautkramer and Grant

Murchison each had two hits and Matt Bergdahl added a single with two

RBIs.

Curtis struck out six for the win.

Troy Baljeu had a double and two RBIs, Mitchell Grant had two hits

and an RBI and Christian Cucinotti had a hit and two RBIs.

Royals 10, Marlins 1

Nolan Heyer got the win and teamed with relief pitchers Connor

Ahern and Perry Clitheroe to put together a one-hitter without

yielding an earned run.

Ahern led the Royals battery with two hits and three RBIs.

Clitheroe had a double and single and two RBIs, William Menke singled

twice with two RBIs, Noah Harrison had two hits and Heyer and Colby

Griffith each had an RBI double.

Marlins pitcher Scott Orel struck out five and had his team’s only

hit.

Region 56 6, Region 143 2

HB Crush posted a decisive victory in girls’ Under-14 Division

spring soccer action.

In the opening minutes of the game, Erika Longoria put in the

first goal off an assist by Hayley Townsend to give the Crush a 1-0

lead.

Rachel Pasternak contributed the second goal, coming up from

halfback to score. Right before the halftime break, Osiris Ceja

worked her way up the middle through a crowded defense to score to

make it a 3-0 match at the half.

In the fourth quarter, Townsend picked up a pair of goals, one off

an assist by George Demes, the other on a solo breakaway to make it

5-1.

Patty Amador added the final goal by putting in a header off a

corner kick near the end of the game.
