Vanguard University senior Sarah Hall, who finished fourth in the

1,500 meters at the Claremont Classic, has been named Lion of the

Week by the school.

Hall, who ran 4 minutes, 41.24 seconds, four seconds off her

personal best, despite a bout with anemia, will compete in the NAIA

outdoor championships Thursday through Saturday in Kentucky.

Hall, an Estancia High graduate who placed 10th in the 10,000 and

12th in the 1,500 at the 2003 outdoor championships, has qualified to

compete in the 1,500 (a qualifying time of 4:37.43), the 3,000

steeplechase (11:25.40), and the 10,000 (36:24.75). She plans,

however, to concentrate on the 1,500 in Kentucky.
