Corona del Mar advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern

Section Division IV baseball playoffs with a 6-4 victory over host

Apple Valley Tuesday.

In what Coach John Emme called, “very windy, very tough

conditions,” Josh Bradbury belted his 11th home run of season to lead

off a four-run third inning after the Sun Devils took an early 2-0

advantage in the first inning. Barrett Sprowl followed Bradbury with

a single and Wess Presson doubled, sending Sprowl to third base.

Tyler Lance plated both runners with a double to give the Sea Kings

the lead. He later scored in the inning.

Bradbury was 2 for 3 with a double, home run and RBI. Lance went 2

for 3 with three RBIs. Sprowl was 2 for 5. Ben Maggard scattered

seven hits through five innings to earn his third win of the year and

Blake Eadington pitched a solid sixth to set up Blake Contant, who

picked up his fourth save.

The Sea Kings (22-5) are on a 14-game win streak and host San

Dimas at 3:15 p.m. Friday.
