Irene Jones and Kurt Edler both of Newport Beach, exchanged vows

at the point overlooking Kapalua Bay on the island of Maui on April

4.

The bride is the daughter of Diane Jones of Newport Beach and Jim

Jones of Balboa Island.

The matron of honor was Laura Lee Robinson. The bridesmaids were

Kirsten Newhart and Lindsey Lupo.

The bridegroom is the son of Michele and Kent Edler of Costa Mesa.

The best man was Skylar Putman. The groomsmen were Jeff Edler and Jon

Mitchell.

The reception was held at the Kapalua Bay Hotel in Maui with 60

guests in attendance. The couple’s honeymoon was spent on the island

of Kauai. The two plan to live in Newport Beach.

The bride is employed as a fourth-grade teacher at Harbor View

Elementary School. The groom is employed as a middle school teacher

in the Huntington Beach City School District.

Gordon F. and Mary Louise Bates

Gordon F. and Mary Louise Bates will celebrate their 60th wedding

anniversary on June 24 with a family dinner on June 27 at El Torito

in Placentia.

The couple lives in Costa Mesa and has two children, Gordon

Randall Bates and Sheryl Louise Prather. They also have four

grandchildren, Trent G. Hilderbrand, Heidi M. Reeves, Heather A.

Brown and Holly E. Gillian and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Bates is

retired from sales and Mrs. Bates was a full-time homemaker.
