Huskies edge Anteaters

The UC Irvine baseball team’s pursuit of an NCAA regional playoff bid

suffered another setback Saturday as Washington earned a 5-4

nonconference home victory over the Anteaters in Seattle.

Greg Isaacson singled in Brent Lillibridge, who had walked and

stolen second, to break a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning and help

Huskies pitcher Tim Lincecum set a school freshman record with his

10th win in 12 decisions.

Mark Wagner drove in two runs and Cody Cipriano was 2 for 3 with

an RBI for UCI, which fell to 34-20-1.

Washington is now 36-18-1.
