Forum pages on Sunday May 30 titled, “Criticism shows man behind the

curtain,” contained a number of incorrect statements. While Costa

Mesa resident M.H. Millard did assist in Councilman Chris Steel’s

2000 election campaign, he said he doesn’t know of nor did he take

part in any “clever manipulation” of the election process as West

alleged, nor does he have a “grand plan” for evicting charities, the

expulsion of Latino immigrants or the elimination of jobs. He is in

favor of deporting illegal immigrants and has criticized the large

number of charities on the Westside.
