El Morro mural unveiled
El Morro Elementary School fifth-graders have created a mural under
the guidance of artist Sherry Bullard.
Their work was unveiled at the school’s open house Wednesday. The
project was a graduation gift from the class of 2004 to the school.
All the fifth-graders participated in a ceramic workshop taught by
Bullard through Laguna Outreach Community Arts and the schools’ PTA.
They created more than 200 sea life ceramic pieces that Bullard
assembled as the basis for the mural.
El Morro project director Kendall Clark organized parent and
faculty volunteers to help with the mural’s installation on May 22.
