Facing tragic reminders of life’s fragility
Our hearts go out to the families of the three who died this week in
tragic accidents.
Mark Tiner, 17, and Max Sadler, 16, died after a car accident last
Friday. Marc Alan Dale, 60, died after being struck by a car while
riding his motorcycle on Saturday.
Each loss is tragic in its own way, whether because of the shock
of youth taken or the tearing into the simple pleasure of a
motorcycle ride. They are incomprehensible. They are irrevocable.
There has been a palpable sadness around town since the weekend.
Even those who didn’t know any of the three felt a sense of loss for
the families and the town.
That loss lingers today and will continue to grip the community.
It never seems like enough when giving condolences to family
members who have lost a loved one. The best thing seems to be to let
them know you’ll be there for them. You’ll be there today, tomorrow
and a year from now.
For now, we send our thoughts and our prayers.
