Winton and Pat Ashton of Newport Beach announce the engagement of

their daughter Janice Ashton of Newport Beach to Michael Stone of

Santa Barbara.

The bride-elect graduated from Newport Harbor High School, Orange

Coast College and San Diego State.

The future bridegroom, son of Allan and Brenda Stone of Palm

Springs, graduated from Beverly Hills High School, UC San Diego and

the Georgia School of Professional Psychology.

An Oct. 17 wedding is planned at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church

in Newport Beach.

Thompson-Kapko

Ellie Thompson and Matt Kapko both of Costa Mesa, exchanged vows

at Palisades Gazebo Park in Dana Point on April 23.

The bride is the daughter of Andy and Silvia Thompson of Costa

Mesa. She wore a strapless beaded ivory gown with train.

The bridegroom is the son of Rick and Nancy Kapko of Costa Mesa.

The reception was held at the Franciscan Gardens in San Juan

Capistrano. The couple’s honeymoon was spent on the Mendocino Coast.

The two plan to live in the San Francisco Bay area.

The bride is currently employed as a teacher in Humboldt. The

groom recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Humboldt

State.
