Daisy and Riesling

Daisy and Riesling are two tabby/torti 8-week-old kittens born

with eyelid agenesis (incomplete eyelid formation). Neither have

corneal ulcerations, but they do have some corneal edema from the

lashes rubbing on the delicate surface of the eye. Ouch!

Time is of the essence to help sweet Daisy and Riesling before

damage to the cornea affects their ability to see. Dr. Elaine Wexler

Mitchell has referred them to the Eye Clinic for Animals in Tustin to

surgically correct their half-formed eyelids. This surgery is not

cosmetic; it is essential to safeguard their vision and stop the

irritation and pain of their lashes rubbing the surface of their

eyes.

An initial consultation is scheduled for next week and community

contributions will be necessary to proceed.

Community Animal Network does not kill animals that become too

expensive, nor does it restrict an animal from being rescued because

of the cost.
