Accuser in rape trial should be named

I have two points regarding the rape trial of three teenagers that

ended in a mistrial. First of all, why hasn’t the woman involved been

identified? As despicable as what these boys did to her was, whether

it was consensual, I think it’s high time we identify the accuser as

well as the accused.

And No. 2, she was only 16. That is statutory rape. Why haven’t

they been charged with that? You wouldn’t need a jury to convict them

of that.

New trial should definitely proceed

I think the district attorney should definitely retry the three

teenagers who allegedly raped that girl. It’s on video and there’s no

denying it. It’s absolutely horrifying that the jury could not reach

a “guilty” verdict, and the district attorney should spare no effort

in attempting to get a reasonable verdict.

Mistrial highlights

legal shortcomings

Yes, I think the district attorney should retry the case. With the

overwhelming evidence of the tape, if these men -- and remember they

aren’t juveniles, they’re men -- were from the lower-income homes

with regular lawyers, they would be on their way to state prison

right now. They appear to have performed a terrible crime and should

not get away with it.
