CdM alumni tourney moved to August

Corona del Mar High alumni will once again test their basketball

skills when the 16th annual Jack Errion Memorial Alumni Basketball

Tournament is held Aug. 21 in the school’s gym.

The tournament has traditionally been held the last weekend in

July, but maintenance in the gym during that time forced the event to

move to the scheduled date, tournament director Robert Hess said.

All alumni through the 2004 graduating class are encouraged to

sign up.

Interested players should contact Hess at (949) 757-2800.

Depending on the number of players, teams should be guaranteed two

pool play games to determine the final 16 squads. The 16 teams then

play in a single-elimination format to determine a champion.

Teams should expect to pay fees for T-shirts and referees. There

will also be a silent auction.

The leftover money will go toward the CdM basketball program and

school special education programs.
