July Theme Horse Show will take place at the Huntington Central

Park Equestrian Center, 18381 Goldenwest St., from Thursday to

Sunday, July 11. The public is invited to watch this free event.

Adventure Playground, a playing experience for children, will be

open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at the Central

Park, 7111 Talbert Ave. Children can raft on a small pond, navigate a

rope bridge, use a cable slide, go down a mud slide and build forts.

Children must wear tennis shoes and be prepared to get dirty. This

experience is suitable for kids six to twelve years old. Adult

supervision will be provided and tickets are $2 to 3. Enter from the

Campfire Storytime, an activity that will include s’mores, stories

and songs on a summer evening in the Huntington Beach Central Park,

FRIDAY

“Pride and Prejudice” will be performed at Golden West College.

Jane Austen’s story is described by the college as a fast-paced

romantic comedy. The show will run through July 18. The 8 p.m. show

will be at Mainstage Theater at Golden West College, 15744 Goldenwest Street. Tickets will cost $11 for general admission and $9 for

The Huntington Beach Pro/Junior Surf Series will be a United

States Surfing Federation sanctioned competition. The time of the

event will be announced. The event will be held at the south side of

the pier, near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Main

The Pier Plaza Art A-Faire,

held at the outdoor Pier Plaza next to the Huntington Beach Pier,

will feature more than 50 vendors selling unique, handmade gifts and

Shakespeare in the Park will present “The Tempest,” the Bard’s

last comedy. The play will be performed at the Huntington Beach
