Pair set to compete in triathlon

A pair of Laguna Beach High School aquatics athletes will test

their athletic abilities when they compete July 25 at the Pacific

Coast Triathlon.

Breanna Duplisea and Katherine “Kat” Gordon, both members of

Laguna’s girls water polo, swim and cross country teams, will

participate in the half-mile ocean swim, 15-mile bike ride and

three-mile run.

The competition, in its seventh year, will be held at Crystal Cove

State Park, between Laguna Beach and Corona del Mar.

Duplisea is a two-time record holder in the Laguna aquatics

program. Gordon was an All-CIF member of Laguna’s girls cross country

team that reached the state meet last fall.
