BINKY PATROL

Started in Laguna Beach in 1996, the organization makes and

distributes homemade blankets to children 18 and under who are born

HIV positive, drug-addicted, infected with AIDS or other chronic or

terminal illnesses, physically abused, in foster care or experiencing

BLUE BELL

FOUNDATION FOR CATS

This is a cat sanctuary devoted to taking care of cats that have

been given up for adoption and then deemed “unadoptable” for various

reasons. Cats staying at the Blue Bell Foundation stay there for

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB

OF LAGUNA BEACH

The club aims to inspire and enable all young people, especially

those from diverse backgrounds, to realize their full potential to be

productive, responsible, caring and upstanding citizens. At 1085

Laguna Canyon Road, the staff meets Mondays at noon. Regular hours

are 1:30 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Summer and weekend hours

are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

THE CANYON CLUB

The club holds Alcoholics Anonymous meetings on the hour from 6

a.m. to 10 p.m. daily with some Alanon meetings as well. Organizers

aim to keep the program simple and encourages participants to take

the program one day at a time. The club is at 20456 Laguna Canyon

Road.

CHABAD OF LAGUNA JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER

The center provides services on the weekends and runs a pre-school

during the week in Laguna Beach, Dana Point and San Clemente. All

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS -- YOUTH SHELTER

This is a short-term program for at-risk teens. The goal of the

therapeutically-based program is to reunite teens with their

COMMUNITY ART PROJECT

This is a community-based organization attempting to acquire more

public art to display in private locations in Laguna Beach. Public

meetings take place at 5 p.m. on the third Monday of each month in

Wells Fargo Bank, 220 Ocean Ave.

FRIENDS OF THE SEA LION -- MARINE MAMMAL CENTER

The center rescues and rehabilitates sick and injured seals and

sea lions with the intent to release them back into the ocean.

Coverage area includes all beaches from San Onofre to Seal Beach. The

center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily at 20612 Laguna Canyon Road.

FRIENDSHIP SHELTER, INC.

The only year-round emergency shelter for homeless adults in South

Orange County, its mission is to assist homeless adults in regaining

their self-esteem and self-reliance. The shelter has a structured and

IMAGINATION CELEBRATION

OF ORANGE COUNTY

The organization links artists and educators in an ongoing effort

to recognize, promote and present quality visual and performing arts

programs that inspire and challenge the imaginations of children,

LAGUNA ART MUSEUM

The independent, more than 80-year-old, museum focuses on American

art, with emphasis on the art of California. LAM promotes an

understanding of the role of California art and artists in the

development of visual arts nationally and internationally.

LAGUNA CANYON CONSERVANCY

This is a membership organization promotes and preserves natural

resources and open space surrounding Laguna Beach. Information

meetings spurred by public participation take place on the first

Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at Tivoli Terrace from September

through May.

LAGUNA CANYON FOUNDATION

The foundation raises funds to increase awareness of South Coast

Wilderness Parks (Crystal Cove State Park, Laguna Coast Wilderness

Park, Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park and open space in the

cities of Irvine, Laguna Beach and Laguna Woods). Its mission is to

help complete parkland acquisitions, preserve, protect and enhance

LAGUNA GREENBELT INC.

This is a membership organization formed in 1968 to preserve Orange County’s open space. Manages a volunteer program for Laguna

LOCA

Laguna Outreach Community Arts conducts art workshops and

demonstrations throughout the year as part of its mission to provide

educational opportunities for artistic enrichment to the community

LAGUNA PLAYHOUSE

Laguna Beach is possibly the smallest U.S. city boasting a
